Last updated October 10, 2026. The short version: the extension keeps everything in your browser, and the website stores your email only if you join the waitlist.
The extension
The Tracewind extension runs only on a tab where you click its icon or press its shortcut. It reads the computed styles of the element you point at so it can show measurements and generate code.
Captures you save are stored in the extension's own storage inside your browser. They are not sent to us or to anyone else. The extension has no analytics and no account.
When the library shows a saved piece that contained images, your browser loads those images from the site they came from, the same way it did when you visited that site.
Removing the extension deletes everything it stored.
Permissions
activeTab and scripting let the extension read the page you are on, and only after you start it on that tab. storage holds your library. The extension does not ask for access to all websites.
The website
If you join the Pro waitlist we store the email address you enter and the time you entered it. We use it to tell you when Pro opens and for nothing else. We do not sell or share it.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests and keeps standard server logs in order to deliver the pages. The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
Your choices
To be removed from the waitlist, or to ask what we hold about you, email hello@tracewind.io. We will act on the request and confirm when it is done.
Changes
If Pro adds accounts or sync, this page will be updated before those features collect anything, and the date at the top will change.
